Guy-Bertrand Njoya

Guy-Bertrand leads the Finance function and is in charge of all aspects of MAX’s financial operations, including budgeting and financial planning, accounting and reporting, treasury and cash management, fund-raising and access to finance, investment and capital allocation.

Guy-Bertrand has close to 15 years of experience across investment banking, financial advisory, M&A, structured financing and strategy consulting. Prior to joining MAX, he was CFO of Terragon Group, a pan-African data and marketing technology company where he successfully sourced and arranged the company’s Series A equity round, and also closed its acquisition of an India-based R&D provider.

Guy-Bertrand built his career in investment banking and strategy consulting. Starting at French banks Credit Mutuel-CIC and Natixis, both in Paris, he then moved to Standard Chartered in his native Cameroon then in London where he advised on numerous M&A, capital markets, project finance, leveraged and acquisition finance transactions across various sectors in Africa, including telecom, energy, financial services, consumer goods, etc. He joined PwC in Lagos in 2013 as a corporate finance consultant and then proceeded to found a strategy and financial advisory firm focused on helping fast-growing company solve the challenges of scale across the continent.

Guy-Bertrand holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Douala. He is enrolled in the joint EMBA programme of London and Columbia Business Schools.
