Mohamed Yahya is the Resident Representative to the Federal Republic of Nigeria for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) based in Abuja. Prior to that Mohamed was the Africa Regional Programme Coordinator for UNDP responsible for regional development initiatives in support of the African Union and Africa’s Regional Economic Communities. Mohamed also served as UNDP’s post-conflict recovery specialist supporting UN interventions in Afghanistan, Guinea Bissau, and Liberia. Before joining the UN, Mohamed worked as a senior peace-building advisor for the non-governmental organization International Alert, with a focus on West Africa. Mohamed holds a Master’s degree in Conflict and Development Studies, and a Bachelor’s degree in Politics and History from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London).
