IIF Deal Summit 2021 Investor Registration


The Impact Investors’ Foundation (IIF) in partnership with Impact Amplifier is organising the Third Annual Deal Summit on November 30, 2021, and as an investor, we are inviting you to register your interest to participate in this event The IIF Annual Deal Summit is an initiative that seeks to address a critical gap in the ecosystem which has resulted in the limited number of investment-ready businesses in Nigeria.

This year’s Deal Summit will incorporate an impact and investment-readiness programme to prepare social entrepreneurs to become investment and impact- ready to access funding from various impact investor partners.  This will be led by Impact Amplifier,  an experienced advisory firm focused on accelerating and investing into social and environmental innovation on the African continent.

Objectives of this initiative are as follows:

  • Prepare social entrepreneurs through an investment-readiness programme to become investment-ready to access funding from various investor partners
  • Expose participants to impact investors and match them during the deal summit
  • Accelerate quality deal flows within the impact investing community and to support quality investment pipelines for impact investors

The criteria for selecting participating investee companies are as follows:

Companies must

  • Have been in operations for 2+ years
  • Be commercially viable (i.e. does not rely on grants) or can demonstrate that commercial viability is achievable within a likely expansion scenario
  • Have clear impact focus or orientation, whether social or environmental or company involves people living at the base of the pyramid as customers, retailers, distributors of  suppliers (at least 25%  of revenue or income comes from BOP)
  • Not have raised more than US$5M externally
  • Seek ticket size between US$200,000 – US$5m
  • Commit senior company executives (preferably the CEO) to take a substantial role in training and matching  activities.

In addition, sectors and funding requirements would match participating investors.  Hence, investee companies participating in this programme must be addressing social and or environmental issues in sectors such as  Health, Education, Agriculture, Renewable/Clean Energy, Financial Inclusion, Transportation, Job Creation or other key issues confronting Nigeria. Also, they must be providing essential services to vulnerable people at the base of the pyramid.
