PROGRAMME AND THE IIF ANNUAL DEAL SUMMIT, 2021

If yes, apply for the 2021 Impact Investors’ Foundation (IIF) Annual Deal Summit and Impact Amplifier’s Investment Readiness Accelerator, funded by the Inclusive Business Action Network (iBAN)

The three month accelerator is bespoke and designed around the specific needs of each participating business.  The programme will conclude with the Deal Summit where participants will be introduced to a community of curated investors.

The IIF Annual Deal Summit is an initiative of the Impact Investors’ Foundation which seeks to address a critical gap in the ecosystem which has resulted in the limited number of investment-ready businesses in Nigeria.

Criteria for Participation

Companies must:

  • Have been in operations for 2+ years
  • Be commercially viable (i.e. does not rely on grants) or can demonstrate that commercial viability is achievable within a likely expansion scenario
  • Have clear impact focus or orientation, whether social or environmental or company involves people living at the base of the pyramid as customers, retailers, distributors of  suppliers (at least 25%  of revenue or income comes from BOP)
  • Not have raised more than US$5M externally
  • Seek ticket size between US$200,000 – US$5m
  • Commit senior company executives (preferably the CEO) to take a substantial role in training and matching  activities.

Note: Companies must be addressing social and or environmental issues in sectors such as  Health, Education, Agriculture, Renewable/Clean Energy, Financial Inclusion, Transportation, Job Creation or other key issues confronting Nigeria. Companies must be providing essential services to vulnerable people at the base of the pyramid.

Impact Investors Foundation is a non-profit organization founded through a partnership involving Bank of Industry, African Capital Alliance, Business Day Media Ltd, Dalberg Advisors and Ford Foundation, with the overarching goal of accelerating the growth and excellence of impact investing in Nigeria.

Impact Amplifier, is a leading capital advisory firm based in Nigeria and South Africa which is focused on accelerating and investing into social and environmental companies on the African continent.

The Inclusive Business Action Network (iBAN), a global initiative supporting the scaling and replication of inclusive business models. Through its strategic approach iBAN supports companies with tailor-made investment readiness programmes and develops national inclusive business policy strategies with policymakers. iBAN is jointly co-funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the European Union. It is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
